Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role is based in field sales. Day to day this means visiting a vast variety of different stores trading in extra stock, merchandising our brands, setting up planograms and building relationships with management among many other pieces
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I only say this due to the company that was used to support us. We used a company called remit for our apprenticeship and didnt always receive the best level of sipport

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I’ve definitely developed my selling as that’s the main part of the role. Along with this I’ve become a lot more confident.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

It was reasonably well structured but as mentioned sometimes it was not the easiest experience with our mentor.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I received lots of support from my employer. I always had sufficient time for my study and my line manager was always checking in.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I received some support but as mentioned our tutor wasnt always the best. There was quite a few occasions when he missed our calls etc.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification was all around customer service which isn’t out and out what I do. It felt more tailored to someone that would work in a shop.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Not for me due to working in field sales I don’t get the opportunity to be involved.

Would you recommend Mars to a friend?

Why?
Mars as a company are really supportive and aligned with a really solid core set of principles which help the business be one of the biggest players in the industry.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Mars?
Definitely go for it. When you first start it’ll likely feel overwhelming. Just take it week by week and it’ll be fine
