Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt so many new skills in data analysis, strategic planning, project research, to name a few. I have also had opportunities to work with employees from all areas of the business, from directors to frontline employees.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme was initially clearly structured, with a two-year plan split between project rotations and business partnering. While this structure has since evolved due to changing business priorities and new opportunities, I have continued to feel well supported. The revised plan includes a secondment in a different area of HR, which will allow me to gain valuable experience and broaden my understanding of the organisation. My line manager has discussed possible business partnering experience in the future, if this is something I would like to explore. Therefore, the flexibility of the programme and the support available have ensured it remains a positive and well-managed experience.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
There is a lot of support available - my line manager is extremely supportive and flexible if adjustments are needed, I had a workplace coach that would also offer support and guidance, and I have the flexibility to plan my protected learning time to suit my needs.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I receive a satisfactory level of support from my training provider while working towards my qualification. Learning resources and checkpoints are in place, and support is available when required. However, clearer communication around expectations, timelines, and upcoming requirements would improve the overall experience. With more consistent and proactive guidance, the level of support would be strengthened further.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I think it gives me the theoretical knowledge and principles that will ultimately be the foundation for my people professional career. However, I feel that the best way to perform better in your role is from doing things at work, receiving feedback, and then doing it again.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, there are a range of extra‑curricular opportunities available at Mitie. These include diversity networks, wellbeing and inclusion events, professional networking opportunities, and company‑wide engagement activities. Colleagues are encouraged to get involved through networks such as diversity and inclusion groups, internal communities on Viva Engage, volunteering initiatives through the Mitie Foundation, and attendance at internal events, webinars, and workshops. While participation can depend on role and location, there are regular opportunities to connect with colleagues across the business and engage beyond day‑to‑day responsibilities.
