Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role consist of supporting all production requirements across the different programmes made within my department: drama, speech and music. Focused on organisation, logistics and support, a production coordinator arranges staff, equipment, catering, schedules, travel and paperwork through out pre, production and post.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I truly enjoy the work. It is both highly organisational as well as creative. There is very little hierarchy and each role is considered a vital member of the team. Ideas are heard and valued, and the impact of your work is easily seen and appreciated. The college course lets it down, but the training from the BBC itself is excellent.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Logistic and organisation
Communication
Creative thinking
Puzzle solving
Media equipment use

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
There is a lot of freedom in the schedule and your work flows with the demands of productions. It can be hard to forecast where you will be/what you will be doing weeks/months ahead. The college course is poorly organised. The support form the BBC try to give as much structure as possible, but it is not always possible as the nature of the job itself is changeable.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Excellent support. From schemes specialist to line manager to mentor to co-workers - everyone is supportive and willing to help and guide you.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
The college course is poorly designed and does not cover what you actually learn on the job. There is very little structure and contact with the training provider is limited.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
The BBC has internal staff networks and training opportunities. Their own apprentice community runs many opportunities throughout the year covering internal placements, workshops, events, networking etc. and departments encourage apprentices to say yes to as much as possible.
