Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work within the Broadcast and End-User Technology department which focuses on the delivery of technology and infrastructure within the BBC, as a trainee technical project manager, I get to shadow other BBC staff sectors, manage different types of projects, attend various meetings, communicate with stakeholders, gain ownership on small scale projects, travel to different sites, and I get involved with different events within the BBC as an apprentice.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy the programme overall as I get to work four days a week as a technical project manager apprentice where I am learning different practical techniques, and I get one day a week where I can attend lectures as a project manager student and learn the theory behind the tasks which I am completing and the layout of the programme ensures that I have enough time and support to successfully complete my tasks at work, university and learn for my apprenticeship.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I believe that I have been able to learn a various amount of new skills within my apprenticeship going from no project management experience before starting the apprenticeship to now being able to take ownership of small scale projects, the BBC also give you the ability to learn additional skills with their training platform, BBC Academy which I have been utilising within my apprenticeship.

The programme is well structured providing a clear timetable of placement and university, there is also support in place for any questions or if you are struggling.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

There is a lot of support from the employer including your line manager, course lead, and the university team.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

There is a lot of support from my training provider, you get access to all the normal university services as well as apprentice specific things such as TPR sessions and support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I believe that the qualification helps me to perform better within my role, it provides me with the theory behind my work activities and lets me build up on all my skills within my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are lots of activities to get involved in, many different staff networks, volunteer opportunities and socials to attend throughout the year.
