Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

The apprenticeship provides the opportunity to gain hands on experience alongside completing the NCTJ diploma. It allows you to explore all areas of journalism, including writing for online, radio, and TV.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have enjoyed every moment of my apprenticeship so far and would recommend it to anyone wanting to enter journalism.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Through getting to work alongside my studies, I have been able to learn and develop numerous skills. These include filming, editing and writing.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is a really well structured programme, with regular check ins from both the employer and your college provider and a clear progression plan
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive lots of support from my employer, with regular check ins from my manager and tutors. They all want the best for you, and will help you to achieve it.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I recieve a lot of support from my training provider, they have regular check ins to see how we are progressing with our studies, and the teaching itself is really great.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I think my qualification really helps me develop and the learn the skills that I need to use when working.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are lots of professional networks and social groups to get involved with. They are a great way to develop your career and make new connections.
