Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

In my role I support 20 children in a group in EYFS as a key worker. I teach everyday 1-2 lessons. Deliver interventions to all children on a speech and language referral, social stories, attention autism and social stories. I assess children's progress and log their improvements. I deliver key areas of the curriculum concentrating on Maths and English.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am finding the programme really helpful in increasing my knowledge as I successfully move from a teaching assistant to a teacher. I love to learn about things that are just going to better my practice and further increase my knowledge and understanding in my new role.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

By observing others in my setting I have found lots of new methods that I can add into my daily delivery of the curriculum to better the children's engagement and knowledge. I have also learned lots of ways to ensure a harmonious relationship between myself and the parents/ carers, pupils and colleagues. Ensuring that professional behaviour is upheld at all times and I do not overstep those lines when having conversations.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is very well structured but I have found starting a course so full on very time consuming and stressful sometimes especially with trying to juggling my daytime job alongside of it. Members of SLT in my setting are very supportive with this though.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

In my academy I have received great support in my programme and also been checked in on to ensure I do not need any extra support. My members of SLT have gone above and beyond and looked at my assignments and given me feedback on these before I have handed them in.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Many times I have needed to ask questions about things we are learning or something I don't quite understand and my training provider has been very responsive and supportive in helping me navigate everything.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Having only just started this is a difficult question to answer but my first module really did help me reflect on my own practice and how I can better it.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We have a full academy training at the start of every academic year to settle everyone in and to build relationships. We also do cross trust training where we train alongside others professionals within our trust and share our knowledge and skills.

Why?
I have worked for the trust for over two years now and I have gone from strength to strength in my role and been pushed professional to better myself and try new things even applying for the current role I am in and starting this course.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Alpha Academies Trust?
Don't hesitate apply and never look back. There are always opportunities to grow and better yourself and for me that is imperative. The way that we are supported as employees is second to none and I would recommend anyone to apply today.
