Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
What really stands out is how involved we are in real work. Rather than being limited to basic or low impact tasks, apprentices are trusted and often thrown into the deep end, working on genuine cyber security activities that add value to the business. This has resulted in a huge amount of learning on the job. We are also given dedicated study time to focus on off the job learning and apprenticeship exams, which shows how supportive the team is of our development.
Through the rotations, we gain valuable experience across both the technical and non‑technical sides of cyber security, which is incredibly beneficial for building a well rounded skill set. Alongside this, the team culture is excellent, with regular team events and a very welcoming environment. There are also many apprentices across other areas of the business, and we regularly connect, share knowledge, and support each other, which makes the overall experience even more positive. I would 100% recommend Computacenter, amazing place to work at!

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Alongside technical skills, I’ve also significantly developed my presentation and communication skills. I’ve had opportunities to present my work, explain technical concepts in a clear and non technical way and contribute to discussions with experienced professionals. This has helped build confidence and improved my ability to tailor communication depending on the audience. Overall, I would say that the programme is helping me develop a well rounded skill set across both the technical and non technical sides of cyber security, which is something extremely valuable for me
