Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Computacenter?

I really have loved my experience at Computacenter! On the graduate scheme, we get placed on such an amazing learning development plan in which you receive support from people of all ranks and experience levels throughout the company. We also get 1-2-1 mentoring from dedicated people and brilliant networking opportunities.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

My main responsibilities vary depending on which of the two sections of the graduate scheme I find myself in. The first half of the graduate scheme, my role includes learning about the business through going on 1-2 week rotations led by specific CC business units. Here I am required to engage and network internally and also deliver internal presentations reporting back what we have been taught. In the second half of the graduate scheme, you enter a period known as 'guided role', in which I am required to shadow and get more hands on with the job. This requires us to attend customer calls, vendor meetings, handling quotations and customer orders etc.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

5/5

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

3/5

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

5/5
I think this genuinely could not prepare you better for the role. Going on various rations for the 1st 10 months of the graduate schemes equips you with both the knowledge and confidence to be successful in Sales. The second half of the scheme, 'guided role', allows you to do the practical job for the first time but in a protected and safe environment where you have direct support from an experienced person in your team.

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

5/5
Having nearly completed the scheme myself, I completely have transformed with regards to the skills and confidence I need to be successful in an IT sales role.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?

5/5
First class support. You get not only support from 'graduate scheme' line managers but also a buddy, mentor, and coach support system which comprises of experienced individuals in the company some of which have over 30 years of sales experience. You also get allocated into specific CC teams which is a whole entire support bubble that you can lean on and feel very grateful to have.

How is your work-life balance?

5/5
Hours for the most part on the scheme is about 9:00-5:30 which is incredibly balanced compared to most corporate jobs!

What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

5/5
Work hard play hard culture. There are so many fun events CC has to offer such as fun pub trips, corporate dinners, sport fixtures, and evening in the O2 (a personal favourite of mine)!

How would you rate Computacenter initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Computacenter to a friend?

Yes

Why?

CC offers the perfect balance of unparalleled learning and development opportunities ( eg. getting direct feedback with the MD as an example), great networking chances as well a lot of fun in terms of the venues and experiences they offer throughout the graduate on the scheme.

How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

5/5

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Computacenter?

Just be yourself always. Try think of the skills the assessors will be looking for in terms of what makes a great salesman/woman (eg. rapport building, competitiveness, confidence, hardworking etc) and try your best to talk about experiences where you have demonstrated those qualities.
