Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am currently working as a Technician while completing my Level 3 ICT qualification. My role involves providing daily technical support across the organisation, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, setting up and configuring devices, responding to service requests, and helping maintain the smooth operation of systems and equipment. I learn best through visual and hands‑on experience, and being able to physically get involved in tasks significantly increases my understanding and confidence. Over the past seven months in this role, I have developed a strong enjoyment for the work I do, as every day gives me the opportunity to learn something new, expand my technical skills, and contribute meaningfully to the team. :)
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy the programme to a very great extent, The combination of hands‑on learning, real technical responsibilities, and continued support from my team makes the programme highly engaging and motivating. I appreciate how each task gives me the chance to build new skills and deepen my understanding of ICT in a practical way. Being able to learn visually and physically get involved suits my learning style extremely well.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt many new skills and also developed existing ones throughout my time on the programme. This has strengthened my ICT abilities by improving my confidence in troubleshooting, enhancing my technical understanding of hardware and software systems, and helping me apply practical skills more effectively in real working environments.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is very well organised and structured, with clear guidance and consistent support provided throughout my development. I work closely with my manager, who helps oversee my progress in the workplace and ensures that my responsibilities align with my learning goals. In addition, I have a dedicated learning mentor for my course who supports me academically, helps track my progress, and makes sure I stay on track with my apprenticeship requirements. I also receive support from the recruitment team, who play an active role in assisting all apprentices and are always available to offer advice or help with any concerns. Together, this structure makes the programme easy to follow, well coordinated, and highly supportive, allowing me to focus on my learning and growth.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a high level of support from my employer, which has been extremely helpful for my development. I have frequent meetings and regular progress reviews that allow my manager and the wider team to check how well I am getting on, identify any areas where I may need help, and ensure I am staying on track with both my workload and apprenticeship requirements. This consistent communication makes me feel supported, valued, and confident in my role, as I always have guidance available whenever I need it.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive a very strong level of support from my training provider, and this has played a major role in helping me progress confidently through my apprenticeship. They offer frequent check‑ins, regular progress reviews, and ongoing communication to make sure I am meeting my targets and fully understanding each part of the course. In addition to this, my training provider also offers access to a physical training site that we visit every few months, where we receive in‑person, practical training directly related to the course content.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
It supports the practical work I do each day by teaching me the theory behind ICT systems, hardware, software, and troubleshooting. Even though I already had some experience with ICT and computer engineering before starting, the qualification has strengthened and organised my understanding in a way that directly relates to the tasks I carry out at work. The course is also designed so that someone with little or no previous ICT experience would still be able to progress confidently, as the training provider explains everything clearly and introduces the skills step‑by‑step.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, there are many extra‑curricular activities to get involved in at my workplace. There are regular social activities, opportunities for apprentices to connect with each other, and different events that help build teamwork and communication across the organisation. These activities provide a good balance between work and social engagement, giving staff the chance to relax, meet new people, and get involved in the wider workplace community. They also support professional development by encouraging networking and helping build confidence in a more informal setting.
