Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

At STS Engine Services I have done extensive training such as Human Factors, Part 145, Safety management Systems and CFM65 Courses. I have carried out hands on work such as basic component changes, engine wraps, stand and engine movement aiding, full engine inventory's, wire locking of components and the changing of isolators on engine stands. I have also experienced work in other departments such as aiding stores. For the first 6 months of my employment at STS Engine Services I have completed a bespoke training programme which is designed to prepare us to go out onto the shop floor. Whilst currently on the shop floor carrying out tasks I have been shadowing mechanics and being overwatched by Technicians to aid and guide me in the right direction in completing my work efficiently and to the correct standard.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my programme at STS Engine Services as they support me through my journey into the industry with all necessary resources allowing me to develop my all round skills not only with my hands but also my employability skills. My manager has been constant help to me through my time here at the company always guiding me and other colleagues to become the best versions of ourselves possible.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed many of my skills such as; My hand skills have improved far beyond many at my time within the company as I have been exposed to many new challenges and experiences. My employability skills have also improved as I have picked up new types of familiarisations and trainings such as a CFM56 Engine Course.

The training programme I am on is structured well and efficiently allowing me the best opportunities to learn and develop my skills.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive full support from my employer in all aspects such as developing skills, helping me with extra training, aiding me with course work given to me from college and always willing to help me with factors outside of work contributing to my well being.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive the necessary aid from my training provider making sure I understand all of my components and am ready for examinations towards my qualifications.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel my qualification allows me to perform better in my role as through my qualifications I gain a much better understanding of how systems work and operate.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

At STS extra-curricular activities I have attended are Quarterly meet & eats and a 5 a side football matches after work.

I would recommend STS as I feel It provides an excellent training and working environment allowing you to develop into the industry and as a person, They have strong values and care for their employees with high motivational spirits

You need to have a lot of integrity, passion and be committed into the role and align yourself with the company values.
