Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I'm given lots of odd jobs that allow me an insight to lots of different areas of TV production, and allow me to meet lots of brilliant people and learn about their roles.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I've been grateful for every day since starting. Fab company, fab teams, and interesting tasks are given.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Transferrable office / organisation / communication skills have been strangthened since starting this scheme.
I've learned so many new skills in technology / software / story writing / script editing and planning for a TV production.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It's flexible depending on what I find interesting. Just need to maintain communication with line managers and they're always happy to accommodate.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
They are so keen for me to get the most out of this scheme. Any problems, it's just a chat to resolve them.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Can't fault them. Any issues (e.g having to push back apprenticeship work deadlines due to filming schedules) are swiftly resolved via communication.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The course is lead by industry professionals, many of whom have worked with apprentices on productions, so they can relate to our position and experience.
They are excellent at communicating what needs to be done and where support can be found if needed. They check in regularly and give helpful feedback on work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Many professional networking events, that we will be invited to even after the scheme ends.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BBC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The most inclusive, supportive, and positive employer I've ever worked for.
The company benefits are wonderful and having access to the entire BBC mailing list has been a fantastic opportunity for networking.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BBC?
- Research their values
- Research how the BBC works and the standards it holds itself to (e.g. editorial guidelines, charter, license fee funded)
- Be kind and humble, think about what you want to learn / how you want to develop from the job (whilst being mindful about the skills you can already bring to the team)
