Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am involved in working and maintaining electrical equipment on clean water sites which can be working in panels, working with motors. I also have to fill my portfolio so I ensure that I am able to make time to do this
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy it at UU because I am able to develop my skills and gain more knowledge and enhance. The programme also offers extra benefits that I haven't seen from other companies such as paying for £500 worth of driving lessons and test and an outward bound trip.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt how to work with many different types of cables and learnt how to use many different tools and read electrical drawings and I have been able to enhance on skills I already had.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I am able to clearly understand what is needed from me and how to carry this out. The programme has a clear structure that is simple to follow and is very useful.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I am able to ask my employer question if needed and I understand how to do so.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I am able to ask for help and support if needed and I am able to see what is need of me to be able to complete tasks and work towards my qualification
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel like I am gaining a better understanding of how different tasks are carried out so i understand what is needed to be able to get my qualification.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I am unaware of any extra-curricular activities but I do know the company has events.

Why?
I feel like the company is a very good place to work, the benefits given aren't seen on any other apprentice courses. The company also has its own training centres and given many training courses to help advance your skills.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to United Utilities?
The company is a very goo place to work for so I would recommend having a good CV and learning more about the company and the job role you are going into.
