My job role will usually involve the preparation of statutory accounts for various sized entitys of all different types.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt various skills such as lots of technical knowledge of accounting terms and standards both within the office and whilst out of office for my studies towards the qualifications gained from the apprenticeship.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very well organised. You are given set college dates and time to complete any additional apprenticeship work. Only not a 5 as some of the apprenticeship work has to be done in your own time and to begin with this was not made fully clear to me.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Given time out of office for studies however could do with some more time for off the job training whilst at work as this is one of the requirements for the apprenticeship to be fully completed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

You are given a specific talent coach at AAT which helps guide you through the process. At ACA, although not given a specific talent coach, you will have regular calls with different coaches to discuss progress.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel as though a lot of the content covered across most of my college courses is applicable to the work that I carry out within the office.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

My team in the office will often get involved in various social activities outside of work. All employees are also given 1 day per year within work time to volunteer for a charity of our choice.

I believe that RSM is a good place to gain the necessary skills to be a qualified accountant that can be taken into further careers.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to RSM?
When going through the application stage, try to use real world examples as much as possible but only where applicable.
