Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I work as a data analyst within a great organisation serving the North West of England, I work in a diverse team, constantly adapting to new problems and situation within Lancashire Network Performance. My day to day can look anything like getting on with in house smaller levels of analysis to larger projects from members of the wider Lancashire team. I use tools like Excel, Tableau and Power Bi, to turn large unreadable datasets into something useful and insightful.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
The programme, I am currently on is a Level 4 apprenticeship in data and analytics which is run by a company called NowSkills. This is a fully remote course therefore all my time is spent with the office and the course contains a good mix of self learning and tutor led sessions.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
The skills I have learnt within the role are still ongoing, I am lucky enough to be in a team where my skills are constantly evolving, weather that be analytical tools, Power BI, Anaconda, SQL or more in-house specialised software, I have also learnt new skills in Stakeholder communication, and time management.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
I believe that the programme is particularly well structured and this is due to the amount of self learning and growth required. I am very well suited to this type of training and I enjoy it very much, however I wouldn't say it is organised or structured. Self learning and progression always relies of the student to 'do their part' and unless a learner is going to fully commit to this, this course becomes difficult to follow.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive plenty support from my employee from my dedicated mentor/line manager to wider and higher leadership team members. There is always a priority of apprentice work completion over any work contributions and this must come first.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I have had two tutors in my time on this programme and they are very easily reached on communication basis, they also have a vast amount of resources weather that be something that they have seen or something they have created.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I believe my qualification helps me perform better in my role through the skills that it provides me with, both analytical skills but also daily management skills such as time management, calendar optimising, note taking etc.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes my workplace does a lot of extra-curricular acticities such as team nights out, wellbeing walks and then within the wider business there are many different social activity clubs you can join. Since my time we have also has two all colleague events which are great places to learn more about the business but also network at a company level.
