4/5 - Skills Development
3.8/5 - Structure and Support

Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Raising payments, creating and disseminating call sheets, booking resources, completing paperwork, and coordinating shoots and events.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I enjoy certain projects/portfolios as we get moved around teams, so some (events and shoots-based) are better than others (largely paperwork-based).

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Learnt new skills in terms of BBC systems and processes and developed existing coordination and organisation skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Largely well organised - some issues with offering alternative placements/shadowing/experience.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Support is available if you're proactive in seeking it.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Support on offer from our tutor in particular is great.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I think it helps me understand more about the industry but those already working in the industry just want to know what experience you have rather than about the qualification itself.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
The BBC offers a lot of staff training, learning and developing events, plus networking and career progression events for apprentices.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BBC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Because it's a generally good place to work - the support and development opportunities on offer for staff are good. The only issue is getting a permanent or long-term job as these are few and far between!
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BBC?
If you're a career changer, be prepared to be at the bottom of the pack. If you're starting out in your career, it's a fantastic opportunity! You get as much out of it as you put in to it - you need to be in the office, talking to people and volunteering to help out where you can.
