Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I prepare accounts (often for small companies), complete VAT returns, prepare management accounts, prepare SAR Audit work and file confirmation statements for businesses.
I work with a number of different businesses, so everyday is different. I also have good client contact (email, calls, onsite visits) which help me develop my communication skills. I thoroughly enjoy the team I work with, they always offer support and there is a large number of other apprenticeships who can offer exam advices.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy the work, however juggling exams and work is hard work and can be stressful at times.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt a huge amount in such a short period of time, I had no prior accounts knowledge and now one exam away from AAT qualification I have a much better understanding on not only accounts preparation, also audit and tax work. I have also developed skills in the work place such as effective communication via emails and how to multitask work while meeting deadlines.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is extremely well structured all team members are aware of my college and exam dates and I can also reach out for support.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive immense support not only from my immediate line manager but all members of the team, who often take times to explain things to me and celebrate my exam successes.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
BPP is my training provider, they are organised with exams and study. However, the admin side is a bit more messy, they often cancel calls and invite my old line manager to calls despite me telling them otherwise.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
My role is majorly supported by my qualification as my exams relate to the work me and my coworkers do and helps me understand why we do them.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
I have got involved with a clients charity rounders event, which was very good fun!
