Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Each day I will be working on a different show taking place in the BBC studios in Salford. I have, thus far, only done radio-based programmes on Radio 2, 3, 4, and 6Music. I have managed external callers, rigged studios, recorded and edited episodes, and played out music and trails during live broadcasts.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have loved every second of it! All the staff have been extremely welcoming and the work is definitely right up my street!

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt so much about the way that the BBC operates, the broadcast environment, and how to rig and connect hardware to other pieces of software, and just how to operate all the complex equipment used in making a broadcast work!

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The organisation, overall, is fantastic! I have always felt confident knowing where I need to be and when, and I have felt that the communication from my placement managers and scheme specialist has been great!
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer, especially my line manager Sam, have always been EXCELLENT in handling requests and solving any issues I've encountered quickly and efficiently.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
NFTS has always provided top-tier support to me. Their courses are well laid out and the assessments they provide are a great way to test my knowledge.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Each time I have come back from NFTS I have felt more confident in performing my role!
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are many clubs, networks, and events to get involved in - many of these are also specifically for apprentices which is great!
