Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As an Application Support Lead, I take ownership of application support across Data & Analytics platforms, acting as the primary point of contact for technical issues, system queries, and user support. I am responsible for ensuring the stability, accessibility, and effective use of business-critical applications.
I proactively troubleshoot and resolve application issues, triage complex incidents for further investigation, and coordinate with technical teams to ensure timely and effective resolution. I support Power BI functionality, manage user access, and provide guidance to users to enable confident and compliant system usage.
Beyond day-to-day support, I work closely with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams, acting as a trusted point of contact for operational queries and system-related processes. I contribute to process documentation, user guidance, and continuous improvement of support procedures, helping to improve efficiency, clarity, and service delivery across contracts.
I operate with a high level of autonomy and accountability, supporting senior-level operational needs while maintaining strong communication, governance, and service standards.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme was part of the first cohort of apprentices in the wider technology team. Despite this being the first time apprentices had been introduced, my team organised and structured the programme well. They worked with the learning provider to ensure support was in place for off-the-job training, and they were receptive to my concerns and ideas on how the programme could be improved. As a result, adjustments were made that made the experience easier and more effective for us.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a good level of support from my employer. My team are very supportive in my day-to-day role and are always available to provide guidance, answer questions, and help me develop my knowledge and skills. The learning provider has also been supportive throughout the apprenticeship, particularly with coursework, progress reviews, and off-the-job training requirements. In addition, the L&D team have provided helpful support by ensuring the programme runs smoothly and that I have the resources and guidance needed throughout my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive a good level of support from my training provider when working towards my qualifications. They are helpful with coursework, progress reviews, and making sure I understand what is required of me throughout the programme. They also provide guidance around off-the-job training and are available to answer questions whenever needed. Overall, the support has helped me stay on track and work confidently towards completing my qualification.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification has helped me perform better in my role by strengthening my underlying knowledge and understanding of key concepts. Through the assignments and theory-based learning, I have been able to build a stronger foundation around systems, processes, and how different areas of technology and support work together. This has helped me apply what I learn in a practical way within my role and has improved both my confidence and overall understanding.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
