Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role involves working with my team to develop and think about the future of science, technology and media. We carry out surveys and design prototypes that may benefit the public and the BBC.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my apprenticeship with the BBC much more than I enjoy the programme with the learning provider. I think the learning provider was attentive to start with, but as the course has progressed, it feels like the mentors aren't engaged with your work.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I've learnt so many new skills that were completely unrelated to my degree, which is a massive bonus. These skills include coding and foresight.

The learning provider have a given structure and generally, my role fits into this although it does take a bit of stretching to fully ensure that my learning criteria is met.

Why?
The BBC provide so many opportunities for their apprentices to develop skills that are both related and unrelated to their job roles, and the networking that it creates is vast. Working in the BBC lets you build resilience and is a good balance between the public and private sector.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BBC?
Be truly passionate about work that the BBC do, and have a strong work ethic.
