Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
A day in my role entails going to a variety or different properties to conduct PPMs (planed preventive maintenance) such as a emergency light test or inspections on a asset, this helps us raise reactive work. When we get reactive works it is more hands on and physical i.e. changing a tap or fixing a broken door. The best thing about my day is that no day is the same because of the vast amount of jobs we do and the amount of sites we cover.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I am learning alot through this apprenticeship program, like basic trades and I have become alot more organised and protective in my work life.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have been learning many new skills such as plumbing and drainage, brick work, carpentry, plastering, tiling, concreting and painting and decorating. I am also only just over 6 months into my program.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I have found that this program is structured in a way that what you have learned previously will help you in the next chapter of your learning and it has been very clear what requirements need to be met.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I recive regular checkup from my supervisor, HR and other employees of mitie to make sure I am on track and to see if I need any help with my work.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have been in touch with my training provider on a regular basis and he has been really helpful with helping me do the admin side of this apprenticeship.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Without the training I wouldn't have a understanding of what it is that I do on a day to day basis so its been a big booster in my performance within my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are lots of activity to be involved in on the mitie portal for everyone to get involved not just people who you work with on a day to day but people you might never see unless you go.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Mitie to a friend?
Yes
Why?
They have made it very clear so far that they want to help me build my career and allow me to go on corse to help give me qualifications.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Mitie?
It may seem basic but try to listen as much as you can because the people you are learning from are trying to show you what they have learned over many years, so take it all in, dont be afraid to ask question. From my experience there is no such thing as a silly question, if you dont know ASK or you won't learn and finally just give it your all and you will do great.
