Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Shadowing and supporting project managers on an allocated projects ti learn more about what they do and learn new skills by helping assist with tasks. Also exposed to other areas of the business in which people are very willing to have meetings with you about to discuss this.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy this programme as its very well supported as the people are amazing and the opportunity to learn and develop my skills is big. Very open to getting apprentices involved in all sorts of experiences to learn a=more about the company and scheme as a whole.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Coming straight from 6th form I have learnt a range of new skills, both relating to the corporate world, project management itself and personal skills.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Extremely well organised from introduction to scheme, providing all the correct information, support, having and organised study day and supporting us in that too.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Amazing amount of support from the team we are put in and our line manager. We have scheme advisors which we have monthly check ins with both as a cohort and the opportunity for 1 to 1s as well. They are always responsive to emails to answer any queries or questions you may have. Especially since coming straight from school they are supportive in helping me to adjust to the corporate world not just about learning project management.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Lots of support, always have access to all the information, drop in sessions regarding things like assessments or just any questions we have, always respond to emails. We have quarterly TPR meetings for a check in too.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It provides you with the theory to understand what people are doing and the purpose behind why it is important.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes lots of networking events and social activities to encourage us to meet other apprentices and staff from other departments.

Why?
The scheme is an amazing opportunity to not only get a qualification, but put this to use through hands on work experience to grow my skills and learn new ones. It is so supportive meaning you are well looked after and will enjoy it.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BBC?
Be yourself when going through all the different stages as the BBC want individuals who are authentically themselves and will put their all into what they do. Research your scheme and really know why you want to apply. What skills can you provide the BBC? Research the BBC and its values, mission and why its so important to the public.
