Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I do admin tasks which involve inputting things onto oracle. These then have to be checked before a deadline to ensure the correct value ahs been added in and under the correct name. I also help answer employees queries regarding their pay, answering phone calls, responding to emails and answering tickets via our helpdesk. I run reports daily and action them if it is needed. I am still a new apprentice and am keen to learn more as i progress.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the work which i do at NWG and am in the best team which are very supportive and will always help if i get stuck on tasks. My college course is beneficial as it helps me understand the theory behind why i complete certain tasks and what impact it may have.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have become more confident with answering phone calls and improved my self confidence when taking out daily tasks. I am forever expanding and gaining new information on payroll structures and legal frameworks behind it.

I enjoy how flexible my job role is and how it helps to structure my working week.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive lots of support from my team members and they always happy to help show me new things or if i get stuck whilst completing a task. They are very reassuring and give praise which is nice to hear. They also will point out if i have done any errors and are always happy to help correct them with me.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My tutor is happy to help if i have any questions about work which she gives me and gets back really quick! I feel it is harder to complete the course online rather than in a classroom but understand the distance and why we have sessions online.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I think that it helps me perform better when understanding why we do certain tasks and what impact they may have upon others. I have got so much to learn as i am just at the beginning of my apprenticeship journey.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I take part in apprentice activities which NWG puts on, ie confidence building sessions both internal and external. As i started later at NWG than most apprentices, i missed out on the main activity days which are put on specific to the apprentices but there is always loads of events to sign up to. We also hold monthly apprentice teams catch ups which are really good in catching up and seeing how we are all doing as a team. I am also enrolled on the mentor program.

Get involved in everything! The more opportunity's you say yes too, the more you can learn.
