Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As a Business Analyst Apprentice, I support change delivery by helping to understand business problems and what’s needed to fix them. Day to day, I work with stakeholders, sit in meetings, analyse information and document requirements or processes. Alongside this, I’m learning on the job, building my confidence and developing my business analysis skills through hands‑on experience as part of my apprenticeship.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I am absolutely loving my apprenticeship so far, I feel I have learned so much already and I feel so supported by everyone around me.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I’ve developed my communication and stakeholder engagement skills, especially when meeting new people and contributing in meetings. I’ve also built on my analytical skills by reviewing information, documenting processes and supporting requirements work. Alongside this, I’ve grown in confidence and organisation through managing my tasks and learning on the job as part of my apprenticeship.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
There is a good balance between on the job learning, project involvement and separate qualification designated time.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I feel so supported by my team. I have a line manager, task manager, mentor and a buddy, as well as the wider team, who all give me all the time and support I need. People from all over the business are always willing to give up half an hour of their time for a quick coffee or chat to meet you and share some tips.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
We have weekly tutoring calls and then a monthly catch-up with our apprenticeship coach, although our coaches make it very clear we are welcome to reach out and ask for help whenever we need it. The calls are quite interactive and I feel I am learning a lot from them, as well as starting to recognise topics from the calls in action day-to-day in my project work.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
My qualification definitely provides me with an amazing foundation for my actual work day-to-day. The key concepts and techniques we learn about prepare us to utilise them in real life scenarios, building up our bank of BA skills and an understanding of when and how to use different skills.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
We are all heavily encourages to take part in Investment2020 events, which are social networking events with other apprentices and grads where we are given the chance to gain industry knowledge, hear from a number of amazing speakers and make connections with others in similar positions to us. I thoroughly enjoy these events. Furthermore, there are is also a run club and today we went on an International Women's Day walk all around London and met loads of lovely new people.
