Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role was split between 2 departments - Risk Modelling & Model Development. I undertook tasks looking at counterparty default risks, gained exposure to the Bloomberg terminal, and reviewed complex excel models.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given a lot of autonomy and supported throughout the whole process. I was part of a group project which was a highlight as it allowed me to get in to a proper piece of work over 7 weeks.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have improved my excel skills, developed my presentation skills, and ability to format complex data into clear actionable insights. I learnt how to build workflows within softwares and tests these. I have also increased my ability to use AI meaningfully and purposefully.

I received lots of support from managers, graduates, team members, and the other interns. The support across the 8 week internship was superb.

I thoroughly enjoyed the placement, it gave me a chance to learn multiple new skills and gain exposure into a fast paced financial services industry.
