Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
On a day-to-day basis, I carry out a range of tasks across several areas of the firm. I am currently based in the compliance department, where my responsibilities include completing file reviews, summarising SRA thematic reviews and assisting with deeds storage.
I have also been supporting the new business department by preparing conveyancing quotations for clients over the phone and via email, as well as following up with clients when required.
In addition, I undertake administrative duties, including covering reception during lunch breaks, handling telephone enquiries, greeting clients and escorting them from the main reception to meeting rooms for in-person appointments, and assisting with the distribution of post.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy my programme to a large extent as it allows me to gain practical experience while developing my legal knowledge. Working in different areas of the firm has helped me build confidence and develop a range of professional skills. It has also been a valuable opportunity to learn from colleagues and better understand how legal work operates in practice.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, I have developed a number of both new and existing skills during my programme. For example, my communication skills have improved through speaking with clients on the phone and via email. I have also developed my attention to detail through tasks such as file reviews and compliance work. In addition to this, I have strengthened my organisational and time management skills by balancing a variety of tasks across different departments .

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is well organised overall, with opportunities to work in different departments and gain a range of experience. This structure has helped me develop a broader understanding of how the firm operates and has allowed me to build different skills through my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I received a good level of support from my employer. My colleagues are approachable and willing to answer questions, which helps me develop my understanding and confidence in my role. I also receive guidance when completing new tasks, which supports my learning and development throughout the programme.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive a good level of support from my training provider while working towards my qualifications. They provide guidance with coursework and are available to answer questions when needed, which helps me stay on track with my learning and development.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification helps me perform better in my role by improving my understanding of legal principles and professional practice. This knowledge supports the tasks I complete at work and allows me to apply what I learn in my studies to real situations within the firm.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, there are opportunities to get involved in extra-curricular activities at work. These include social events organised by the firm, which provide a chance to build relationships with colleagues outside of the workplace. For example, both our Christmas and Summer party alongside apprentice events where we can participate in activities such as cocktail making and escape rooms. There are also occasional networking opportunities that allow us to connect with professionals in the legal field. For example, our firm are hosting a networking event next week with clients and professional contacts to celebrate our office move.
