Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Managing the team.
Assisting salaried managers with their role.
Ensuring the store meets its KPIs.
Running shifts.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy my job role and feel that the learning I am doing is very beneficial to my growth at work. It relates to the role properly and I find the learning very engaging.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have built on a lot of skills around management and have developed my time management skills as well as my management of people. I feel I have learnt what makes a store run effectively and have understood what drives success in a store.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is very well structured. I have set deadlines I have to meet and have a mentor that describes what I must do and in what time period.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
I receive support from my employer with the apprenticeship. However, due to the nature of ALDI there is not always enough time for me to complete my work on shift. This either may leave me behind with learning or means I have to do it at home.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have a very supportive mentor. He is available most days if I have any questions and the learning platform has many helpful tools for dealing with stress and balancing work and home life.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
It helps me very much. The learning relates directly to managing and how my management style can develop as to drive my team to be successful.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
We have some social activities. These are few and far between but do exist. However there are not many networking events and no sports teams to speak of.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Aldi to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a good place to work and there are many great opportunities to grow and develop. If in the right store, the environment can be great and work can be a very enjoyable endeavour.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
Stay committed and work hard. At first it may seem as if the work is not being appreciated however if you maintain a good standard of work the rewards will come. Ensure you balance work and home effectively as it is easy to mix the two too much. Try to reduce stress and just remember that regardless of what happens in a day the next day is an opportunity to do better.
