Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I enjoy working here for the variance and the fact every day is different. I constantly am faced with new and unique tasks and problems to solve. It can be tough going and hard work at times but I push through. I enjoy shift work as if I do a shift in the morning I still have my full day left.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I enjoy the work side but the learning part I do not enjoy. My managers have nothing to do with my work I am trained by a separate company called Aptem. I think they are very minimal with what they do and I have learned more while working than learning more recently. I wish the learning side wasn't a thing and the job is just a trainee role

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Customer service
Communication
Problem solving

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
The work is well structured and I was trained well, but now left to do my own thing. The learning scheme through Aptem is badly structured
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
The support has stopped more now but I still get assistance sometimes
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
Minimal
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
Work isn't very useful and is more about telling us how to learn basic skills that I learned or developed months before
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
No

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Aldi to a friend?
No
Why?
Very hard work at times. Pushed very hard and no work life balance even with shift work. Even if I have a night off I have to sleep early because I am up early the next day. Low pay for apprentices who do more work than some others on significantly higher, even after the pay rise
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
Know it can be mentally challenging with no body clock schedule
