My role is very fast paced and i do a variety of roles. I manage the shop floor and I also am in charge of the safe and money handling. I work stock, accept deliveries, manage waste controls, reduce items and work with customers
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

My role is good because there is always something to do and i’m always busy. Working in many areas of the store gives me a good understanding of how to run a store successfully.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have a gained good stamina and a hard working mentality while working here. I have also developed my confidence while working with customers and staff

How well organised/structured is your programme?

It’s structured very well. I’m able to fully understand each section and area of the store by having modules in my programme that contain knowledge checks and lessons
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I’m always able to receive support from my store manager and colleagues. I also have access to the 24/7 retail hotline for free
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider is great and always willing to help me with my programme. If i’m stuck for time or struggling with something, i’m always offered a support lesson to help me catch up
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification has given me the confidence to work better and more efficiently in my store. It’s given me the skills and confidence to excel and further my learning

There are no extra curriculars i can get involved with at my job, however we have benefits such as discounts and access to outside services like gyms, healthcare and leisure activities

Why?
It’s a fast paced, friendly environment. Being busy while working is important to me and makes my shifts enjoyable. It’s a friendly team dynamic and I always feel supported and respected

If you’re an active person or lead an active lifestyle, it’s important to show your willingness to work hard as the company is always looking for committed people
