Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
4 month rotational placements for the first two years of my apprenticeship, including mechanical, electrical, test, quality, systems and supportability engineering. i work on site 3 days per week, and get the other 2 days to work from home, which are both dedicated to my university studies. The only exception is once a month, when we have to go on campus for the day. Day-to-day varies per placement, but usually includes attending meetings, shadowing team members, and independent tasks that you get responsibility for.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
By working alongside completing your degree, I have managed to improve my time management massively. Joining a large business straight from school also forces you to learn to communicate better, and get into good working habits early on in your career.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme has a good structure as we get two full days a week to dedicate entirely to university work, and can ask for more if we are struggling at any point during the course.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
The university could sometimes be more supportive of our employment as we can only see one week ahead in your modules and the content per week varies, as well does our business at work, so it would be better for them to offer different options to apprentices than to their full time students. This also goes for the general university policies, as they could do better in separating their policies for apprentices from full time under-grad students.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The university work begins fairly generic so isn't the most applicable to our work, however you learn a lot of soft skills which helps your workplace performance, and the degree gets more specific/relevant as we progress.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
