I am an apprentice engineer and a typical day is down on the workshop floor fault finding on machines and fixing them with an engineer.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy being an apprentice at Samworth brothers as it gives me invaluable skills and knowledge by working with a team of experienced engineers.

Everything I have learnt about hands on engineering has came from working at Samworth brothers.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is very structured in terms of I know what I should do at all times, the team provides support with any struggle I may have and allows me to continue furthering my skillset.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have never had an issue with the way I am developing here.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The engineers constantly remind and teach me about everything that they are working on with constant guidance and overseeing any work I do myself.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I have been able to complete a lot of work independently thanks to all that I have learnt through college such as being able to handle tools better.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are many things to do as the company holds charity events regularly and award events to ensure all employees are recognised for their efforts. As well as the company holding a special charity event where colleagues partake in a spots event to raise money for charity.

It is a very safe space to work in with friendly colleagues and support you through any hardship you may have experienced in personal life as well as work life allowing for a balanced and stable lifestyle.
