Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I work as an assistant to the Underwriters, this includes both the operational side and BAU tasks. For operational we complete multiple reports weekly, and for BAU we sign slips and endorsements and complete other underwriter request.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
When I first joined i felt very supported, early careers hosted multiple workshops for us (grads and apprentices) where we all came together and learnt new skills. Once new cohorts joined, the support did drop off for the earlier grads/apprentices who are still on the course of their apprenticeship/scheme, but this was also due to the prior head of early careers moving into a new role and awaiting hire of a new head (without any other early careers team). The apprenticeship provider assigned us a coach, and she has been extremely supportive and helpful over the course of my apprenticeship so far.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
As I joined from school and had no prior experience in the financial/insurance industry as a whole, studying for the exams really helped me build my knowledge of insurance and has allowed me to bring this into the workplace. This includes in my day to day BAU tasks and being able to involve myself in conversations.
