Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
I am an underwriting assistant for the US Property Open Market Team. In my role I support a team of Underwriters with the day‑to‑day management of property insurance accounts, including new business, renewals, mid-term adjustments (MTAs), and cancellations. Aswell as many other responsibilities such as risk assessment support, data accuracy, broker interaction and ensuring underwriting decisions are implemented correctly and efficiently.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

4/5
I have really enjoyed my programme. Both my team and BPP have been great supports to me as I navigated learning aswell as starting my first role in the industry.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
I continue to develop and gain new skills everyday in my job.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

4/5
The BPP side of the programme has been very organised and structured. Allowing me to keep on top of my apprenticeship work and have regular check ups with my coach. In reagrd to Early Careers, I found that the internal support dropped off significantly compared to when I first started. However, the initial support from Early Careers was amazing.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
I have recieved complete support from my employer. They have allowed me to rotate to two different teams which was an incredible learning opportunity. And supported me through keeping my workload manageable so I am able to focus on study on a Friday.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

4/5
BPP are a great training provider. They have regular calls running through content and you have direct, regular contact with your learning coach. One thing to note is that it's completely digital.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

5/5
It really helps as it provides alot of additional knowledge that relates to my course.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5/5
There are great networking events both internally and externally that I am able to get involved with.
