Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
We were given a main individual project as well as small day-to-day tasks. Alongside, we were given a group project to do. At the end of the 10 weeks we had to present our group project and individual project (what we learnt in our 10 weeks)
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Tesco treats all their employees equally, no matter what level they are, or what experience they have. I was given responsibilities like leading meetings and presenting important information to heads in the team

We had weekly check ins not just from our line manager, but also from someone in the early careers team and a mentor. Everyone is super friendly and ready to support you or guide you through any matter

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Friendly and welcoming. I was surprised to see how nice every single employee was. One of the major reasons i would want to stay with Tesco is their work culture. They prioritise their employees and look after their well-being

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
Did not expect my first work experience to be this interesting and fun. Within ten weeks, I was able to make some amazing friends, I got to participate in fun engaging activities and I got to experience the best work culture i could possibly ask for

What advice would you give to others applying to Tesco plc
Be yourself. Tesco is a very diverse place and you’re sure to meet people like you. Don’t be stressed about how much you know. There is always room to learn and you will always have people guiding you throughout the internship. As long as you have the will to learn, you will do just fine
