Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
On the day-to-day basis,
I act being myself, living the Tesco Values: treating people how they want to be treated, every little help makes a big difference, we are one team, we make things better, making everyone feel welcome and always following Tesco policies: Customer Service Policies, Health and Safety Policies, People and Colleague Policies, Security and Compliance Policies, Operational Policies.
I pick and replenish across the store where required.
I learn about my store performance on the board, understand the part i play and what i need to do together with my colleagues to drive service and sales, reduce waste and shrink.
I gather knowledge about the products and services within my store by walking round the shop floor to check the shelves and read general information for customers.
I do make the right decisions that meet the needs of customers at the right time, jumping on tills when the store is very busy and so on.
I help to accept deliveries from Doncaster into the store.
I handle products with care to maintain quality and ensure they reach customers in the best condition.
I serve customers with passion and pride by giving great natural service.
I do put into practice the training I have received on My Tesco and from Lifetime Group.
I spend about 30 minutes on the Aptem app to develop my skills, build my confidence and learn about all areas of retail.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
I do enjoy the Tesco apprenticeship programme to an excellent extent because it combines practical, hands on experience with learning and development. And this has been helping me not only in building my personal growth and professional development, building more confidence, improving my teamwork and customer service skills, but also yielding my better understanding in retail operations. I also value the support from colleagues, shift leaders, Life time Coach, Team Managers, Line Manager and Store Manager. They all keep giving me the opportunities to develop my career while earning at the same time.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
I am presently developing all my existing skills.
These are:
Communication Skill,
Teamwork,
Customer Service,
Problem Solving,
Time Management,
Adaptability,
Initiative,
Responsiveness

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
I rate the structure of my apprenticeship programme as excellent because the training is well structured and clearly planned, I can see and view my Learning Plan on the app from the beginning to the end of my programme. I receive a good balance of on-the- job learning and study time, and tasks are introduced in a logical order that is helping me to improve the development of my existing skills step by step. My Coach and Manager provide regular support and feedback, and I always know what is expected of me. The programme is easy to follow, well coordinated, and helps me progress confidently in my role.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
This is because my manager and my colleagues are always approachable and willing to help. I get regular guidance, feedback, and coaching, which helps me understand my tasks and improve my performance.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
My training provider gives excellent support because the instructions and trainings are clear, organised, and being supportive since the beginning of the programme. There have been regular teaching sessions with my coach, and guidance to help me understand my coursework and assessments.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

5/5
I feel that my qualification is helping me to perform better in my role to an excellent level because the learning from my training provider is directly relevant to my day to day work at Tesco. It has improved my understanding of customer service, teamwork, and health and safety, which I have been applying on the shop floor.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
