Over the course of my Level 5 apprenticeship, I have developed and strengthened key leadership capabilities that support my role as a General Manager. My progress reflects growth across leadership, collaboration, training delivery, communication, financial understanding, and stakeholder management.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have genuinely enjoyed my training throughout the Level 5 apprenticeship. The programme has given me the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally, and I have valued the chance to deepen my understanding of leadership and management. The training sessions have been engaging, relevant to my role, and delivered in a way that has supported my confidence and development.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have particularly appreciated how the training has connected directly to real‑life situations within my sites. Being able to apply what I have learned , whether in leadership behaviours, communication styles, financial understanding or team development ,has made the experience feel meaningful and rewarding. Each module has helped me build new skills that I can use immediately in my workplace, which has reinforced my motivation and commitment to the apprenticeship.
The training has also pushed me outside of my comfort zone in positive ways. Public speaking practice, coaching techniques, and working with different stakeholders have all helped me grow. I’ve noticed improvements in my confidence, clarity, and leadership presence, and this progress has been an enjoyable part of the journey.
Overall, the apprenticeship has been a valuable learning experience. I have enjoyed the structure, the support from my trainer, and the opportunity to collaborate with others on the programme. This training has strengthened my abilities as a leader and helped me develop skills that will support my long‑term career.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The training has been well‑organised and clearly structured, which has made it easy to follow and apply in my role. At the same time, it has been flexible enough to fit around the demands of my job, allowing me to manage my workload while still progressing smoothly. This balance of structure and flexibility has made the learning experience both practical and supportive.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer has been very supportive throughout my apprenticeship. They have given me the time, guidance, and encouragement I needed to complete my training while managing my responsibilities at work. Their support has made a big difference to my development and confidence.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The training provider has been great throughout my apprenticeship. They were easy to reach, communicated clearly, and always provided helpful support. I really appreciated the constructive feedback I received, which helped me build confidence and improve my skills.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification has already helped me in my role, even though I am still completing the apprenticeship. I have been able to apply what I am learning directly into my day‑to‑day responsibilities, especially in leadership, communication, and financial understanding. The training has improved my confidence, helped me make better decisions, and strengthened the way I manage my team and stakeholders. I am already seeing real benefits in my performance and development, and I know these skills will continue to support me as I grow in my role.
