Very well organised. A lot to do, and this should not be underestimated so requires a good deal of planning and organisation. Some of this accountability sits with me.

These are available at team and department level. Department also encourages professional networking outside the department with other government departments, awarding bodies, etc

Yes
Why?
We deal with some of the most important government agendas. The department offers a lot of opportunities for learning and progression, with roles in many professional areas.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Home Office?
Research the role - is it something that interests you? You will spend a lot of time in the role.
Tailor your application to the role - make it clear the skills and behaviours you have that meet the essential requirements.
Make sure you tell the recruiting manager what you did, and how you did it. Also don't forget the outcome of this - use the STAR (situation, task, action, results) acronym to help you
