Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Running F&F department and managing staff. Also looking after non food areas aswell.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Loved my apprenticeship and got a distinction. I've now gone on to be a Shift Leader at Walkden Extra.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I'm a previous Team Leader so was fairly experienced. I've learnt alot of new skills, and become all round a better person and more confident as a result.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My only issue was not always being allowed my alloted time each week. I had to do most of my work at home on my days off. Training provider was Lifetime training and they were great.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Unfortunately I didn't get much support really, I just got left to it. I had to do it all myself without help. Had to use my holiday time and days off to do majority of work.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I've built on my skill set and I'm now miles more confident. After my apprenticeship, I was a shift leader a few weeks later.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Not really. I do go for snooker nights with my mates from work and go out for drinks.

Good place to work and if you work hard, there is opportunities to progress yourself.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Tesco plc?
Be yourself, and be totally customer orientated. Customer service is everything. Be a good team player but use your own initiative and skills!!
