Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
in my day to day roll, I get to learn and use a ride variant of skills as we work on different items within the business this helps me to develop a large number of skills and many of them are transferable between different items of equipment
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy my programme as it has helped me to develop my skills, and knowledge this will hopefully allow me to become a really good and Competent Tradesperson which I can then pass these skills on to the next person once I have completed my apprenticeship programme and become more competent upon myself. it has also helped me to gain a lot more self confidence within my work thanks to my buddy that I work with. He really encourages me to work hard and develop my skills,

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
through this apprenticeship programme, I have learnt many skills around electrical systems and how they alley. This will include how electrical science though I thought would just be classroom is used in the real world. And how you would use this in calculating formulas and designing things such as 3 phase supplies and making sure the loads are all balanced.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
although there was a few hiccups at the start of my programme, our training team has helped me to support and get through these it is now looking and feeling much more on track and much more structured as I know what is coming up and what is expected from me by the end of my programme
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
my employer gives me lots of support within my programme. This includes a buddy to work with on a day to day basis to share their skills as well as a training team for any questions that I may have regarding the training programme and access with a tutor through teams to go through any questions I may be struggling with in the paperwork side of it,
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
the college who are providing the training adds massive amounts of support. Though we are there for a week and month at a time. We have full access to communicate with them through teams about any issues we may be having with the materials they will also supply support with any issues we may have, whelts out in the field
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I'm gaining many skills through this qualification which is helping me to understand why we do things in particular orders to keep stuff safe and how to calculate the cable sizes that may be needed rather than just throw in what you think is Right.. It is always best to cheque and use the on site guide and BS 7. 6. 7. 1. to back up? Any thoughts you may have
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
though there is not many within, the business, the training team are working hard to make sure all the apprentices get together and learn from each other through social interaction days. And quizzes online. as it is a challenge for us all to meet up together due to how far apart we are spread, but when we do come together for college, we do work, on making sure we get an evening out together to socialise and network. and discuss what we have learnt whilst out in the field with different technicians and how we've overcome problems

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Tesco plc to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I have found it a very good experience working for the company, during my apprenticeship and I've learnt many skills and felt very supported. I would highly recommend this to a friend to do as you get a good fair wage as well as mastering a lot of new skills and getting to work on a large various amounts of equipment across the sites
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Tesco plc?
be open and honest about any problems you may be having. The training team are always there to help and support you and will work with you to find a solution. Even if it takes a couple of days
