Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I worked across High Yield and Emerging Market divisions in the Public Fixed Income Floor. I conducted ESG Research across firms and industries; Moreover, I updated and automated Excel Spreadsheets that supported the team's monitoring of spread movements across regions.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes. I was tasked with a lot of crucial tasks that really enhanced the team's efficiency.
I was given great autonomy in my approach too, which enabled me to discover new approaches.

There were many overview presentations that allowed interns to engage with senior members and learn about the different business areas of M&G.
Through talking with people across the business, I learnt about the different areas in which the business operate.
I worked on my communication skills and interpersonal skills through engaging with my manager and colleagues.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I enjoyed it thoroughly, the work I was doing was meaningful, and the team was deeply supportive.
It definitely went beyond my expectations, and I hope that I could join M&G as a graduate at some point.
