Overall, how would you describe your experience at Mott MacDonald?
My experience at Mott MacDonald has been very positive, with a welcoming office environment and supportive colleagues who make collaboration enjoyable. I’ve had the chance to work on interesting and challenging engineering projects that have helped me grow professionally, while the regular social activities and events create a great sense of community and make the workplace even more engaging.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
my role is structural analysis of structure around port, provide support during project bidding. I enjoy tackling complex structural challenges, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and finding innovative solutions that improve safety and efficiency around port infrastructure.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

My role gives me a strong sense of contribution because the structural analysis I provide directly influences the safety and functionality of port infrastructure, and my input during bidding helps shape competitive proposals that can secure projects. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams means my expertise is recognised and relied upon, which makes me feel valued and part of something impactful.

My current role is preparing me well for my future career because it gives me hands-on experience in structural analysis and exposure to the commercial side of projects through bidding support. Also, organisation actively supports professional development and chartership through initiatives such as paying for ICE membership fees, assigning mentors, and conducting regular progress checks.

How is the support you receive?

Support I received was great, Buddy helped me settle in for the first few week, my line manager provide continuous support with regular meeting. And my mentor guide me to prepare for my chartership.
How is your work-life balance?

The process of requesting Leave is easy and fast approval, with 33days annual leave, regular social events and sport clubs, I have a excellent work-life balance.

I would advice them to research the company and project before interview, have a understanding of the work involved, risk, future challenge, show your knowledge during question. During onboarding, get to know the team and current ongoing project, pick up work and ask question to learn.
