Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at L'Oreal?
I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at L'Oreal. Having completed the internship, I always knew I wanted to return as a Graduate. It is an amazing company to work for which heavily invest and value their early careers.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
Undergoing the 18 month Marketing & Commercial Management Trainee Programme for the L'Oréal Group.
1st Rotation (Jan 2025 to June 2025): Retail Marketing Assistant for L’Oreal Paris Haircare and Styling.
2nd Rotation (July 2025 to December 2025): SNAM Commercial Assistant for L'Oreal Paris and Garnier Skincare in Superdrug.
3rd Rotation (Jan 2026 to June 2026) TBC.
What I enjoy the most is the opportunity to work across several different functions of marketing and commercial, across very different but all very successful brands in the beauty landscape.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
5/5
Whilst it may vary depending on your team, brand and division, I have found that on all the teams I have worked on it has been very meritocratic. If you work hard and show/prove you can be trusted, you will then be given opportunities to showcase yourself and work on and lead very exciting projects.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
3/5
I feel as though the salary is competitive in the graduate landscape, of course there could always be improvement to keep up with inflation and cost of living. There is no bonus for graduates (you get this after moving onto 'full time' roles), but there are some great perks available. One thing which did frustrate me was the removal of private health care for graduates, this was replaced with an early careers health benefits plan, however for those who suffer serious injuries on the graduate scheme (which I di), the health benefits plan is not in place to support this, whereas the private health care plan would have done.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
5/5
Extremely well, with the set up of the graduate scheme being 3 x 6 month rotations, you have the opportunity to try a wide range of roles across marketing and commercial in a very short time span. It is a steep learning curve but one that absolutely prepares you to further your career. Early careers are also great at identifying which areas you need to personally develop on and providing you with opportunities to do this.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
5/5
Through a combination of great mentorship day-to-day and also plenty of scheduled learning sessions with HR. The L'Oreal graduate program provides great opportunity for learning

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?
5/5
I can only speak personally as everyones relationship with their managers are different but for me it has been great. Both line managers I have had so far have been great, we have weekly 1-2-1's to discuss work priorities for the forthcoming week, you also have an assigned HR sponsor who helps you with career progression and moving between roles etc.
How is your work-life balance?
4/5
There are times where naturally you work overtime, but for the most part it is great.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?
4/5
I work in the Consumer Products Division which has an amazing atmosphere and culture. However I have been told that other divisions are not so similar to this, but I am unable to comment.
How would you rate L'Oreal initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?
5/5
This is at the forefront of L'Oreals operations
How would you rate L'Oreal CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?
5/5
This is at the forefront of L'Oreals operations

Would you recommend L'Oreal to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Its very rare to find a multinational, worldwide, successful business which invests and values their early careers so heavily.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?
5/5
Everything I expected and more
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to L'Oreal?
