Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at IBM?
It’s been a really positive mix of growth, challenge, and opportunity. I’ve had the chance to work on meaningful projects, learn from smart people, and build confidence in my skills. It’s pushed me professionally in the best way.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
The role is mainly about delivering technical solutions, working with clients, and turning complex data problems into something usable. I enjoy the hands-on problem-solving, working with different teams, and seeing the impact of what I build.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
5/5
I feel like I contribute a lot, my work actually gets used, and the team trusts me with real responsibility. When something I built helps a client or unblocks the team, it genuinely feels valued.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
5/5
It’s is really good for the role and level. The salary, benefits, and flexibility feel more than fair for the work I do, and the perks make a noticeable difference day-to-day.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
5/5
It’s setting me up really well. I’m getting strong technical experience, client exposure, and real ownership of work, all of which will help in whatever direction I take next.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
5/5
I’d say it’s high. I’m constantly learning on the job, and the formal training fills the gaps. Together it gives me steady, practical skill growth.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?
4/5
The support has been strong overall. My manager and mentors have been great at guiding me and giving clarity. HR has been helpful when I’ve needed them. The only thing missing is more structured guidance at times, especially during busy periods.
How is your work-life balance?
4/5
Most weeks the balance is good. Remote working helps a lot, and I can usually manage my time well. It can get intense during deadlines, but overall it supports my wellbeing.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?
5/5
The culture is positive, inclusive and supportive. People are approachable, and the hybrid setup works well. It feels like a place where you can be yourself and still grow.
How would you rate IBM initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?
5/5
IBM takes EDIA really seriously. There are a lot of initiatives, communities and events that genuinely make a difference. It feels like a priority, not a checkbox.
How would you rate IBM CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?
5/5
The CSR work is strong, especially around sustainability and community support. There’s clear effort and impact, and it’s something the company communicates well.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend IBM to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It’s a supportive place to start a career, with good learning opportunities, interesting projects, and a positive culture. You get real responsibility early on, which helps you grow fast.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?
4/5
The role matched my expectations well. The type of work, the team environment, and the learning opportunities were all in line with what was described. The only thing different was the expected travel which was said to be over 50% but it has been limited so far.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to IBM?
Be clear about your strengths, show genuine interest in tech and problem-solving, and prepare examples of times you’ve learned quickly or adapted. The process is fair, so being yourself goes a long way.
