Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
2/5
I assist consultants with client work. I do all their admin work, I email clients, update our records and request quotes from insurers
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
1/5
It's not as advertised. A high calibre of work however the pay is not good, can be quite stressful and have not had enough training. The work we do is tedious.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
My communication has improved, I've gotten better at networking and putting myself out there.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
It is not organised well, what they advertise isn't really adhered to. The company care more about their organisational needs than your apprenticeship and your development- there have been many delays in moving teams during my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
My apprenticeship manager is very supportive however, team managers not so much and they don't understand the time and effort required to put into your apprenticeship which makes it difficult.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
They take a long time to respond however when they are available they are good.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I do have a much better understanding of the insurance market and financial services and a broader undertanding than other people in the company, therefore as a whole for the industry it has been useful but in my role, not so much.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
There's a run club but that's all that I'm aware of.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Marsh McLennan to a friend?
No
Why?
I would sure they know fully what they're getting into before they apply so they can make a well-judged decision. This was not the case for me or the other apprentices and therefore this is my response however, if you are aware then this might be the role for you. Coming in as an apprentice, you are not as valued.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Marsh McLennan?
Marsh McLennan doesn't pay the best for the work you have to do, if you do work here opt for the London office, they have more going on social wise and in the industry. You'll get much greater exposure and be able to develop more.
