Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I allocate myself tasks during a meeting with my supervisor and I work through the tasks during the week, working ten hours a week alongside university and placement. I meet with my supervisor once a week to discuss tasks over the week and to plan the following week.

I was responsible for my own calendar, tasks and ensuring I complete and meet deadlines

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture and general atmosphere were very positive. It was a supportive and friendly environment and everyone was considerate of my other commitments such as university and placement. I always felt encouraged to learn and ask questions, which made it a great place to grow and gain experience.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I am really enjoying my placement. It's a valuable experience where I feel supported and encouraged throughout. I appreciated how understanding everyone is about balancing my university and placement commitments. The work is engaging and helps me develop both my confidence and practical skills.

DMU is very supportive when it comes to balancing academic work with professional commitments. They really help you grow in confidence and prepare for your future career.
