Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

• Evaluated student engagement with a digital resource designed to deliver essential information to students.
• Designed, strategically marketed and successfully led a focus group of students, gathering valuable feedback.
• Served as the lead author of a published qualitative report in a Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) project.
• Researched and implemented various strategies to enhance interactivity and connectedness with students.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given a good amount of responsibility during my internship. I felt as though I was contributing to the team and developing new skills, but I wasn't feeling overwhelmed with too much responsibility either.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I learnt a lot of new skills, I developed a lot of confidence whilst conducting a focus group with students. I also analysed the transcripts and wrote a qualitative report. This was very beneficial as these are key skills required for my degree.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I received a lot of guidance and support during my internship. My managers and my team members were all so friendly, making sure I felt included and knew what to do. I never hesitated to reach out for support if needed.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture was very friendly. Everyone got along and bonded really well, making sure that I also felt included and part of the team - which I did!

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I really enjoyed my internship, I developed new skills and I met new people. It also allowed me to meet other staff members, who later offered me a chance to work with them!
