Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
· Drafted legal documents, including Section 21 notices for landlord–tenant disputes and pre-litigation letters for commercial and consumer contract claims.
· Gained exposure to diverse areas including commercial leases, dispute resolution, commercial landlord-tenant law, and commercial conveyancing.
· Assembled court bundles efficiently and accurately.
· Acquired proficiency in billing practices, including accurate time recording, cost management, and invoicing.
· Reviewed advice letters, client care letters, and terms and conditions.
· Completed Level 1 training in the Proclaim case management system.
· Managed office administration and reception duties, including greeting clients, recording key dates such as court hearings and directions in the diary system, and coordinating solicitors’ diaries.
· Conducted tasks including verifying property ownership and title details by liaising with the Land Registry via telephone and email, as well as communicating with courts, counsel, HMRC, and Companies House.
· Developed a strong understanding of Lexcel accreditation, supporting compliance and quality assurance.
