Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at JLR?
My experience at JLR has been fast-paced and extremely rewarding. I have been able to see the company through different teams and work on a diverse group of projects, which has broadened my understanding of manufacturing operations and helped me develop both professionally and personally.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
The main responsibilities of my role involve resolving operational issues and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency. I particularly enjoy solving technical problems and seeing the solutions implemented and the difference they make.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

I feel my contributions to the team have been both meaningful and valued. We actively draw on each other’s strengths and skillsets to solve problems collaboratively, which creates a supportive environment and helps drive successful project outcomes.

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

Through a variety of placements and hands-on experience in the automotive industry, I feel extremely well-prepared for my future career. The scheme has allowed me to strengthen my technical foundation whilst also developing my soft skills.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

I’ve developed a broad range of technical skills, from CAD to hands-on problem solving. Alongside this, I’ve taken part in the Core Skills programme, which has helped strengthen my communication, presentation, and business management abilities.

The support I have received from line managers, colleagues and buddys has always been consistent and accessible. It has been very easy to talk to them to get guidance and for both technical issues and career development.

The culture has a strong emphasis on accountability, innovative solutions and delivering quality. The teams are professional and friendly and always support eachother.
