Overall, how would you describe your experience at JLR?

My graduate experience at Jaguar Land Rover as a Software Engineer has been both enriching and transformative. I had the opportunity to work on various automotive technologies, contributing to software solutions that enhance vehicle performance, security and safety. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, I gained hands-on experience in agile development, cybersecurity integration, and system validation. The supportive environment and mentorship from experienced engineers helped me grow both technically and professionally, while the dynamic nature of the projects kept me constantly learning and adapting. This journey has laid a strong foundation for my career in software engineering within the automotive industry.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

During my graduate role as a Software Engineer at Jaguar Land Rover, my main responsibilities included designing and developing secure software components for embedded automotive systems. I worked extensively with programming languages such as C, C++ and Python, and utilized platforms like AUTOSAR for modular software architecture. I contributed to cybersecurity assessments and implementation, ensuring compliance with ISO 21434 and other industry standards. My role also involved using CI/CD pipelines with tools like GitLab, performing code reviews, and writing technical documentation to support software validation and integration. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, I helped deliver secure solutions that aligned with JLR’s commitment to innovation.
