Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at JLR?
It's been amazing, so much is invested into Graduates in terms of training and the freedom we are given during the Graduate Scheme to explore and learn about different areas of the business is amazing.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I love the cross-functional nature of my graduate pathway allowing me to gain an understanding of the business from enterprise level to working level, getting involved in anything and everything.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
4/5
Dependent on the home team that you are placed in and the placement you choose the contribution can vary but overall most managers are more than happy to allow you to take ownership of workstreams and contribute towards meaningful work.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
4/5
The pay is great for the area and the way in which pay rises are granted is great, there is not opportunity to negotiate contract at the end of the scheme which is slightly disheartening but I am happy with the compensation overall.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
4/5
The freedom given within the role and placements allow you to tailor your experience towards the career that you decide you want to follow which is very useful. Additionally the training provided in both management skills, innovation and more is extremely valuable in any role that you may find yourself in in the future. However given that you roll off onto the team in which you were randomly placed into this may not be the role best suited to yourself.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
4/5
The development of graduates is a top priority for the Early Careers team and wider business. 20% of graduate time is set aside for personal development which is a great system to have. The formal sessions at Ashorne Hill are great - both engaging and extremely applicable. The innovation training modules and the Graduate Innovation Challenge is another great opportunity to develop skills in a more free environment alongside your fellow graduates from a wide variety of business functions.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?
4/5
This is very dependent on the team in which you are placed in or choose to spend placements with. However in general I believe that the support from the Early Careers team is fantastic and there are many opportunities to have buddies or mentors.
How is your work-life balance?
5/5
The work life balance is really good here. As a big business - people are a top priority and we are often reminded to take wellness breaks and not to work out of hours.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?
4/5
The business is very inclusive and has countless societies or committees that regularly showcase in the main hallways. Hybrid working is positively viewed across the company and you get 30 days remote working a year.
How would you rate JLR initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?
5/5
The D,E&I teams are very active and showcase regularly.
How would you rate JLR CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?
4/5
