Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at JLR?
My experience at JLR has been very good. The graduate scheme has allowed me to explore different areas of the business through placements. This helped me to understand which areas of the business I enjoyed the most and helped me to plan for my future
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
In my role I have done multiple rotations. The main responsibilities from these were as follows: Planning and performing product benchmarking through subjective testing. Performing objective testing and data analysis. Performing computer aided engineering tasks like computational fluid dynamics & articulation testing. Managing vehicle and updating them to different compliance specs.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
4/5
I feel like the work I do contributes to the development of our products, which is appreciated by the team.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
3/5
I feel like the compensation in the first year of the graduate scheme could be higher, but the compensation in Year 2 of the scheme is fair.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
5/5
I feel like the role has allowed me to get a good understanding of multiple different areas of the business, helping me plan my career, as well as gain some experience in the areas I felt I would enjoy.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
3/5
There is some formal training which has helped me develop some key skills. I feel like I could have learned more skills in my day-to-day role however.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?
3/5
I feel like the support from managers is good when it can be provided, but it doesn't happen often enough as they are busy.
How is your work-life balance?
4/5
The combination of flexible hours and hybrid working has allowed me to maintain a health work-life balance.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?
4/5
The overall culture, values, and atmosphere is very good. The hybrid & flexible working hours has allowed me to choose to start earlier and get more of an evening. It has also meant that, on occasion, I have been able to extend visits to family by being able to work from that location as well. The culture is quite positive, and I felt welcomed.
How would you rate JLR initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?
4/5
There are many events put on by the company that support all of the above.
How would you rate JLR CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?
5/5
The CSR appears good. For example, we have put in a large solar farm near one of the carparks to allow clean energy to be generated for the site.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend JLR to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I feel like the combination of a welcoming and relaxed culture, with the hybrid working & flexible hours has meant that I really enjoy the work I do and never feel stressed at work.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?
3/5
I feel like the title of my graduate scheme was misleading, although what it has turned out to be is better for me.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to JLR?
Make sure to prepare and read up on some of the initiatives to company is involved in at the time. I feel like my mentioning of their net-zero plans, along with some of the ways they are getting there really helped.
